About Marvin
Why hello, I didn't see you there! My name is Marvin. Some may call me Marvin the magnificent, marvelous or even majestic but at heart I'm just a humble dog looking for somebody to love.
I love the dog park, it has two of my most favourite things in the world - people and dogs. I get along with dogs of all sizes and I'm submissive to dominant dogs. My favourite person is everyone I've ever met; I love them all. I am social and always excited to meet any other being, dog, cat, car, bird, cyclist, leaf blowing in the wind... everything is fun! I enjoy going for swims in the creek and splashing about. Baths are another story (who says I need to stay white?) but with treats I can be bribed into doing almost anything!
Most of my days are spent sleeping or playing with my furry foster siblings outside or in the sunroom and I enjoy snuggling on the lounge with my foster mum for an hour or two when she gets home from work. Often when foster mum arrives home I am waiting eagerly for her and although I miss her I've never tried to escape over the fence which is only 1m high even though I could. I am a quiet boy who enjoys affection and prefer not to be the centre of attention. I enjoy walks, sometimes a little too much but walk perfectly for mum with a halti on. I have no trouble with travel, I sit patiently in the car and don't get sick. When foster mum takes us to the park I have no problems jumping into the car and settle in for a short rest.
At the end of the day I tuck up on whatever bed is available with my furry foster sister and sleep through the night without much of a peep unless an intruder tries to enter my yard. I sure tell the wild hares who is boss!
Do I sound like the one for you? Yay! Apply to meet me today!
Adoption details

- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details. You will also be provided with 7 days worth of food, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
