About Matilda (Tilly)
Matilda - or Tilly as she comes to, sometimes...is a 4 year old pure bred German Shepherd.
She is quite a bouncy dog who needs some manners training but she means well. Matilda is very friendly and loves to be with you. She would need to be inside with you, not locked outside.
Matilda is always happy and in good spirits.
She is still quite thin but happy that she is getting pats and love.
We think she will recover just fine with stability, love and persistence.
Matilda loves other dogs, but when playing, can get a bit intimidating towards other smaller dogs (she can play rough), some dogs may not cope well with this behaviour. Meet and greets with the family dog/s is essential (and our policy anyway)
Matilda would require a calm household, where she is allowed inside and not left alone for extremely long periods of time as she does suffer some separation anxieties.
Seems respectful of decent fencing, no digging under or jumping over at this stage.
She LOVES to play fetch. With anything! A stick, a ball, a rock...?!
Matilda enjoys doggy company and is fine with calm cats (untested with cats that will run or attack) Curious of chickens and sheep, fine with the cows.
Prior to adoption she will be desexed, chipped and vaccinated.
Matilda does have a little bit of hip dysplasia. Not causing too much pain at the moment and it may or may not ever need surgery.
We do suggest good weight management and things like osteo powder or additives in her diet such as oily fish, green lipped mussel etc to keep her joints as healthy as possible.
She runs about and plays just fine at the moment, pain-free, with this routine diet in place.
Medical notes
Yet to determine whether her hips are sore (dysplasia) or she is just sensitive as she is still a little withdrawn and shy, and yelps when you touch her back end (and that's literally 'just touch', her back end)
She runs about just fine, she is happy and playful but gets nervous when the play time stops and you begin to examine her.
Adoption details
All animals come with a 7 day trial period (this is negotiable depending on case by case differences, and will be discussed accordingly with anyone having queries)
After this time, and knowing that both the family and pet are happy together, the adoption will be finalized.
If an animal is to be returned for whatever reason during this 7 day period, a 10% (of the adoption price) administration fee will be taken out of the refund. Animals returned after this time, unfortunately forfeit the adoption price.
We are mostly located in Jimboomba on the outskirts of logan, around 30-45 mins south of Brisbane, although some animals can be in care throughout the greater Brisbane region.
