Hey everyone!
My name is Scout. I was saved from a council pound after I ran out of time when my owners were not coming for me, and my council couldn't keep me any longer. Thankfully, I was in there with my brother, Jem. We kept each other safe and brave in that scary place!! My owners didn't take very good care of me, I had really really bad fleas, and had no vet work done, not even a microchip. Thankfully, my poundies cared about me and got me some help with Off The Chain. I was so excited to get out of there and into a loving foster home!
My brother and I made the journey with everyone else from the pound that day, and landed with Off The Chain. Even though it was a really big, scary day, we were so brave!! From day 1 I was a part of the family! Dog and child friendly, I make fast friends, and get along great with everyone. I live with human kids and they're my besties! I have a really gentle, loving personality but am also a ton of fun. I love to play, run and roll! As a high energy puppy, I am definitely a clever kid who learns new commands quickly. I sit well in the car, and am very eager to learn. I will be a fantastic pet, and if you're ever wanting to do extra activities like agility, tricks etc... I would be perfect for that! I would need to be exercised at least 5 times a week to burn some energy and keep me happy. I haven't yet met cats, but I am young and smart, so if you're experienced teaching puppies, I should be able to learn how to be gentle easily!
My current home has 4ft fences down one side, and 6ft on the rest. I have shown no desire to escape so far. My family is away for full time and varied hours, and I just hang out with the other dog. I sleep inside at night. My ideal home has at least 4ft fencing, another dog/s for company and will take me out to explore parks and meet some new friends. Walking is great, but let me be a dog, too! Let me run, roll, sniff things... that's where my fun is had! I wouldn't mind sleeping outside, but would also love to be welcomed into the home at night! I definitely like to be a part of the family. I will shower you with love, snuggles and loyalty. Need a Netflix and chill buddy? I'm your girl. Need a hiking buddy? I'm also your girl! I am a really flexible, capable puppy who wants to make you happy. I love water and my toys.
So what do you think, could I be the missing piece of your family? Apply to meet me ASAP, a great kid like me won't last long!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
