About Mack DB518
Mack is a 4yo Irish Wolfhound cross who was reluctantly surrendered through no fault of his own. His previous owner had another male dog which was becoming increasingly aggressive towards Mack despite them seeking assistance from a professional behaviourist. It was a heartbreaking decision for them to re-home Mack as they loved both dogs but knew that Mack would find a loving home more easily.
Mack adores and is excellent with children having lived with 3 under 6 years old so would suit an environment where he is included and loved as one of the family.
He has also lived with a female Shih Tzu without issue and prefers dogs who are not boisterous or in his face. So, whilst Mack is dog social we feel, if he is to be with another dog, it would be best for him to be with a calm female, to give him a break from any rowdiness and rough play that he might not be ready for just yet. His wounds have all healed nicely but we worry that it's damaged his spirit a bit.
As he has previously lived on a larger property we think Mack needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside. Moving him to an apartment or small unit would be too confusing and stressful and make adjusting to his new family much harder.
We are also not looking for any homes with cats or other small pets like chickens or rabbits. Mack has done aversion training in the hopes of overcoming this barrier but, whilst he hasn’t chased them since, he will still fixate on stalking them.
If you think you could add Mack to your family, he would love to meet you.
