About Frankie
Frankie is searching for her forever home!
Frankie is an 11 month old Kelpie x Cattle Dog mix. She has settled in perfectly to her foster home and gets along great with both the resident dog (a toy poodle) and foster dog (a border collie mix) at her foster home. She loves to play with other dogs and do zoomies around the yard with a ball in her mouth asking them to chase her! She has shown no signs of food or toy resource guarding and is more than happy to share her things.
She is a very small build at only 14kg and has the cutest half tail you have ever seen and the prettiest face. When she is happy, she wiggles her bottom while her tail is wagging and it is adorable!
Frankie enjoys going for walks with lots of sniffing and is great on a loose lead. She has had a very tough life before coming into foster care and was very timid she she arrived. As such can be frightened of other dogs if they bark or growl at her while she is on a lead - however she is getting braver and more confident every day. She has met some other foster dogs in the care of our rescue and after a nice calm walk together during their initial meeting, she was ecstatic to have made some new friends.
She loves being inside with her foster parents and thrives on being part of the family. She sleeps inside unsupervised overnight and is very well behaved! She has not had any accidents in the house and has taught herself to use the doggy door to scoot off to the bathroom whenever she needs to.
Frankie loves to play in water - splashing in her shell pool and chasing the hose are two of her favourite games. She also enjoys swimming and isn't afraid to put her head in the water to chase a sunken ball!
She is so smart and would thrive doing some kind of work or doggy sport like herding, disc dog or agility. She has her dinner in a treat ball, snuffle mat or just chucked onto the grass and loves to sniff out her biscuits and stimulate her nose and mind. She is a very fast learner and could master anything you'd be willing to teach her as she is both food and praise driven.
She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and heartworm treated.
Frankie would love a home where she would be welcome both inside and outside with owners with breed experience who can continue her training to make her the absolute best dog she can be. She would be suited to a home either with another confident doggy to play with - or as an only dog if her new owners are home quite often.
