About Tori
My name is Tori, and I’m a classic couch potato with speeds of “Go” and “Slow”. I either go or slow – zero to 100. You’ll find me upside down on the couch, with my mouth open, or literally draped across your lap – I’m a certified lap dog and literally lap up affection.
My foster folks say that I am extremely affectionate and can near-catapult myself from my bed to the couch in the blink of an eye! You’ll also find me sprawled out on your bed (and by ‘your bed’, I mean mine, of course!)
I’d love to step out for a stroll, if you work, I’d love both a morning and evening walk. I walk on a harness – you’ll need to continue my training and socialisation and be patient.
Bigger dogs are more my speed (not literally of course, I mean, I’m a greyhound for dogsake). I can sometimes get a bit overwhelmed, so if you’re willing to be patience, gentle and understanding that would be ace! When it comes to other greyhounds, I do enjoy my own space but will invade theirs if given the opportunity – spatial awareness is not my forte.
Due to breaking my leg during racing, I have a limp – this requires no ongoing management and has been vet-checked. I’m definitely not cut out for a marathon, unless it’s marathon napping.
I also love to play with soft and squeaky toys. My favourite is a long-necked goose squeaky. I also love enrichment activities and stuff to stimulate the grey matter (see what I did there). Kong, snuggle mat, puzzle toys, etc.
Got room on your couch for me?
Summary:
> Solo household hound
> If kids, 10+ years
> Not cat, or small dog tolerant
> Willing to put in continued training
Medical notes
Tori has broken her leg due to a racing injury, this has been vet checked and requires no ongoing management. Tori is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped (transfer inclusive of fee), flea and worm treated.
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at admin@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $320.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 2 week trial.
We have a 2 week trial, where support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If, after the 2 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
