About Harley *On Trial in His New Home*
*HARLEY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Meet Harley the good-looking goofball!!! He’s a fun and friendly fella who just loves a cuddle. He’s looking for a forever home where he can have his humans all to himself; will it be with you???
Surrendered to us for rehousing through no fault of his own, he just happens to be BIG and sadly the toddler in his current home is absolutely terrified of Harley’s size and refuses to play in the backyard unless Harley is locked away which is not at all enjoyable for poor Harley :( Harley sometimes forgets just how BIG he is and for this reason would be best suited to a forever home with older children who are large-breed savvy as his excited tail wags and playful antics could accidentally knock littlies over.
Harley is not a needy dog and will happily spend the day gnawing bones, playing with his toys and snoozing in the sun while you’re at work. He doesn’t chew, dig or pull washing off the line so that’s a bonus too!
Enjoy some video of Harley: https://youtu.be/jaPz5snMED0
According to his owner’s Harley had a pretty crap life prior to them taking him in a couple of years ago. But despite all that he adores humans of all shapes and sizes and loves to lean against your leg or sit on your feet, which are typical Great Dane traits. Unfortunately Harley has had limited socialisation with other dogs so will need some help with this in his forever home therefore an experienced owner is a must. He is also very strong to walk and tends to pull so all being well a Gentle Leader/ Halti or a balance-type harness as well as practice and patience will help with this.
Harley’s life so far has seen him as an outside only dog but we’re sure that he’d thoroughly enjoy an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle in his forever home. When sleeping outside Harley prefers a bed in a sheltered spot, like under a verandah, rather than a kennel. Harley travels well in a car and has been known to delight in a spin around the block in the back of a ute.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
