About Ava
Ava is nearly three years old and a gentle giant, being a Great Dane X Bull Arab.
She has great conformation and a lovely personality. She’s settled down substantially in her current home, and is now a calm, confident dog. She’s also house trained and used to sleeping inside. Apart from having lovely manners on both a regular leash and long line, she is also doing very well with basic obedience, and responds to the commands, come, heel, sit, drop, stand, roll over, spin, and leave.
She’s intelligent, playful, affectionate and gets on well with everyone, young and old. She has had exposure to children and toddlers at her current home, and has been patient, gentle and never shown any aggression or intolerance towards them.
She’s become a good watch dog with a very impressive warning woof, although she's all bark and no bite.
Ava is cautious when meeting new people, but once she’s accustomed to someone
and trusts them, she’s very affectionate and likes physical contact and a bit of rough
and tumble.
Like most hunting breeds, Ava has a strong prey-drive, so she needs a good fence to
keep her in the yard, especially if there are temptations on the other side. Ava makes
good use of our large backyard as she loves to run. She also likes to do laps of the house, but generally takes up little space inside.
Ava likes her daily walks in the paddocks around our house and in our bush, but always on a lead or long rope, due to her prey drive.
Due to this prey drive, Ava would not suit a home with any pocket pets, cats, or little dogs.
Medical notes
Ava is a healthy happy girl who is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated
