About Trip
Little pocket rocket Trip finds himself looking for a new home. Trip loves people both old and young. He is an active little dog both physically and mentally, and loves a daily walk plus lots of interaction with his family.
Trip is rather lacking in the manners department and so does need his humans to let him know his place in the 'pack', along with some boundaries about personal space and where he's allowed to jump onto etc, because basically at the moment he wants to be wherever you are and provide you with limitless kisses! He is voice responsive and wants to please you however, so improving his house manners shouldn't be too hard with a bit of consistency and routine.
Trip will suit a home where someone is home most of the time: active retirees, family with parent at home, etc. He loves company and is not happy when left on his own too long: he's a true companion dog. He is toilet trained.
Trip gets on well with his carer's dog although does need a controlled, polite introduction to new dogs, and does need to be fed separately as he has some food protective behaviours with other dogs. When he's out and about on the lead, Trip has 'little dog syndrome' and thinks he's a big Rotti, so he needs to be kept on the lead, and a short lead when walking past other dogs. He ignores his foster carer's cats but does seem rather too interested in chickens.
If you are looking for a cheeky, lovable and affectionate little dog who you are happy to set a few ground rules for, then Trip could be the fellow for you.
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check with flea and worm treatment, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership) and sterilisation. The fee does not include heartworm treatment.
ADOPTION NOTES
Adoption Fee - $565
Our adoption process starts by completing our full enquiry form via the SAFE website. The chosen applicant will then chat to the dog's carer and a meet-and-greet is arranged so you and your family (including any existing dog) can meet your selected dog. The adoption paperwork will be emailed to the applicant to complete, ready for the meet.
We carry out a yard check or will accept photos of your fencing/yard if you're out of the Bunbury area.
The adoption fee must be deposited in full into the SAFE Bunbury bank account before an adoption trial can start. Sorry, we cannot accept cash. We offer a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
Upon completion of the trial period we arrange transfer of the details on the dog's microchip from our name into yours, and email you copies of the dog's vet records.
