About Millie
This is Millie, she’s what we believe to be a Great Dane crossed with perhaps Mastiff & Ridgeback (she has a ridge). She is only 10 months old and already over 50kg. She’s not likely to grow as tall as a pure Great Dane but will be a solid large/giant dog. She has been living with another two dogs and has had a ball of a time. Sadly however, the older female in the home is now not happy with her presence.
Millie is a super snuggle pup, quite the lap dog! She is very timid to start and a home on the quieter side would be easier for her. Having said that once you're 'her people' it's all cuddles from then on. Millie is a heap of fun, she loves her toys and playing ball and also has really enjoyed other dogs she's meet. She would love the company of a male dog and it wouldn't matter too much what size although a slightly bigger one would probably make the best play mate.
Millie can even be timid around new kids but warms a little more quickly to them. Her skin kid family will miss her and it would be nice to find her another one or two kids to get to know. Kids as young as 7 is what she's used to. Millie will come for a car ride any opportunity and is a very well behaved co-pilot. She’s not been tested at all with cats but will chase chickens up a fence line if she has access so to be on the safe side, we will steer clear of chickens and cats.
Millie can go with a family that work full time but ideally company of another dog would be best. The adjustment of becoming an only dog would take time but it could work with the right home who can put in the time and commitment needed for the transition.
Millie is used to wearing a boundary collar which keeps her in rural fencing - otherwise she will go through this type of fencing. Property to run would be lovely but she has the potential to do well in the suburbs where she can improve her on leash walking and build up to having a run with other dogs. Millie’s a beautiful affectionate girl and this is a regretful rehome, please let me know asap if you think you might be the perfect home for her.
