About Kane
I am a big, majestically fluffy boy with a lot of love to give. My last family left me behind to go overseas, so now I have to look for a new home.
When I came to my current foster home I was cautious, I stayed in a nice window spot hidden behind the curtain. But on the fourth day, when I was comfortable in my new room and knew I could trust my foster mum, I gave one of my rare little meows as I came out and let her know that I was lonely and needed a cuddle. From then on I've been an adorable cuddlepots who's always happy to see her, and has even started snuggling into her arms when it's bedtime.
When someone I know comes in to see me I will strut and make lovey-dovey eyes, rub my face enthusiastically on hands, lean and leap into pats, and can purr for hours. I will roll around, I will knead the air. Sometimes I'll even give little kisses or affectionately sniff faces. I also enjoy a good neck scritch and being talked to. But I'm pretty laid-back too, I'm fine relaxing in my room or just hanging out near someone. Pats come before food and play, but after a pat I will have fun with my favourite toy on a string, or jump inside and chew on the cardboard box. With pats in between playing of course.
I am a bit timid, I hide from new people just to be safe and run back to my room or hiding spot if I'm not feeling confident. And I'm not a big explorer - I never asked to come out of my room when I came into fostering, it just got left open after a while (when I was okay with what was beyond it). After a few weeks here I've only stayed down one end of the house, and am pretty much always found in my room, though I'm making slow progress.
I am very much okay with other cats, I made friends with the 3 cats I lived with (after a gradual introduction).
Because of my cute pink nose I must be an indoor cat.
It would be great if you could meet me so you can get to know me a little better.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
