About Lilliput (Lilli)
LILLIPUT
Remember Gulliver’s Travels and the island nation of Lilliput where the inhabits were six inches tall? Well, Miss Lilliput is much taller than that but for a Maremma she is very petite.
Currently in foster through no fault of her own, 11 month old Lilliput spends her days roughhousing with her foster groodle brother in the morning, snoozing through the heat of the day with her foster cats and is learning fast to respect the free range hens and ducks. She doesn’t bark at the horses or roos in the next paddock and, after proper introductions, is getting to know all the neighbours and their strange noises. Miss Lilli will however bark at strangers.
This gorgeous little girl’s ideal forever home will have a very large well-fenced backyard or acreage, preferably with a medium to high energy doggo friend. Miss Lilli shows a preference for adult company. She adores water (Do you have a pool, dam or live by the beach?) and happily hops in and out of the car but may protectively bark at passerbys! She is learning to walk on her harness and visit the local café without barking but it is not her favourite thing to do.
What is Lilliput's defining attribute? Well, when Miss Lilli puts her trust in you, she is extremely sweet natured and affectionate, loves a long cuddle and is incredibly kissable. She will happily curl up on the couch or your bed to sleep. Lucky she is a mini-Maremma!
Note: Maremmas are a unique breed of dog with certain personality traits - please do your research to see if they will be suitable for your lifestyle before applying if you don't already have experience with the breed!

This is in no way an obligation to adopt but simply gives us some more information about the home, family and lifestyle you have to offer a new pet.
As of 2017, Fresh Start Rescue are no longer placing dogs in adoptive homes with children under the age of 9 years old. This policy was introduced for the safety of both the families of those looking to adopt as well as our very much loved Fresh Start Rescue Dogs. We appreciate everyones understanding in this matter.
