Hi! My name is Kenny and Foster Ma says I have one of the most beautiful natures of any dog she has ever had the pleasure of having in her home (including her family dogs over the years, shh!). Foster Ma says this is entirely to do with the sweet and loving boy I am. I just have SO MUCH love and joy to give! I really love my humans; you brighten my day as much as I will yours! I have this crazy infectious smile and bum wiggle welcome home dance that puts a smile on everyone’s face, everyone who meets me thinks I am just so lovely! I also love to sit on the couch with you and always be touching so I’ll find your paw to hold with mine every time!
It’s taken us a while to get things to where they are, so Foster Ma really needs to make sure that my new family are going to continue with all the hard work we’ve done. The best thing about this is that it will let us form a bond and you’ll see very quickly that I’m definitely worth it! I am incredibly smart and therefore very quick to learn new things – I just want to please you and show you how good I can be; that’s why I already know shake with both my right and left paw, sit, drop, stay, wait, “on your bed” (bed time or when the door knocks), “on your mat” (feeding time, YUM!) and more. Foster Ma has also muzzle trained me because when we go out for walks I can still be a bit silly around other dogs so we believe this is the safest option for me and the other doggies. It also works as an anxiety aid for me – if I can’t snap then I just have to trust Foster Ma will keep me safe from all those scary puppers! Foster Ma is in charge and I just have to do what she asks!
Foster Ma likes to take me for a walk when it's cooler. We like to do similar routes because then we know where all the doggies are to avoid, and I don’t get scared of new noises like big cars and trucks! We also have a big play in the back yard together every morning – some days I am so silly and do all the zoomies, other days I just want to play catch with the ball or a toy or even play a bit of soccer together – I’m pretty good at it! She plays with me for about 20-30 minutes and then I’m ready for a big drink of water and lie down! I really don’t need very much exercise which she thinks is GREAT! Foster Ma is also aware that I am sensitive to heat so we don’t do too much during the day time – If I get too hot I need to come inside to the air-conditioning and find some tiles or a mat to lie on until I cool down.
When I came to Foster Ma, I was a very anxious pup, so I have been taking medication for the past 6 months and we’ve seen the biggest improvement in my confidence. This will be something that will need to be monitored and likely be required for the rest of my life, I hope that’s ok with you! I have adapted amazingly well to my foster family, but I still easily become overwhelmed with environmental changes, and this is when my training comes in handy, as I just needs some direction and then I can handle the situation much better. Foster Ma would like for me to go to a stable, friendly and quiet home without any drastic changes or too many visitors, with a family who has had experience with anxious dogs and will be willing to continue my muzzle training and medication.
Foster Ma says I’m pretty good with fences – she only has 4ft ones and I’ve never tried to jump over the top.
Well, that’s enough about me! If you think you might just be able to fall in love with me, with all my wonderful traits and also accept my quirks, then I would really love for you to fill in the application form so you can come and meet me!
