About Oscar
Oscar is a lovable, goofy pup with a friendly nature. He is a big boy with lots of energy, and is still learning about manners and etiquette, so like many 'teenagers' he can be strong willed, although he is learning quickly if you mean business! He would do best with an owner savvy with large dogs (or one willing to learn!) and who is happy to work with Oscar to develop his training and focus.
He's good with dogs but has a robust play style so will suit another young, active dog who enjoys rough and tumble in the yard (small dogs or senior dogs will find him too much). He's untested with cats but does seem to want to chase birds on his walks so may be best suited to a home without small fluffy pets!
Oscar is untested with kids although we feel he would be fine with bigger kids. Due to his bounciness he could accidentally bowl over little ones until he matures. He loves his daily walks and it's very important that his new owners have the time to give him a good daily run to use up some of his surplus energy and keep him happy. He will try to greet other dogs when walking so some obedience training would benefit him, however he walks pretty well on lead generally.
Oscar loves company and ideally won't find himself left alone too long with nothing to do, or he may find something to occupy himself (eg chewing!) A doggy companion and/or someone who works part time hours or is home lots would be wonderful for him.
So in summary, Oscar is a typical big, 'teenage' pup, but very much a sweetheart. With some patient and consistent training and boundaries, he will be a fantastic dog.
