About Hermione & Hyacinth
We are currently allowed to operate under Stage 4 restrictions with a COVID plan, permits for our volunteers and all necessary safety precautions. This does mean that we are even slower than usual at responding. Please be patient and stay safe.
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF HERMIONE PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/about-vicdrg/adoption-and-foster-application-forms.html
Victorian Dog Rescue has a six-week full refund policy and a lifetime takeback guarantee that includes 50 per cent of the adoption fee refunded.
Please note: Hermione will be rehomed with her mum Hyacinth.
Hermione (4.5 kgs) is the sweetest little girl you could meet. She is the perfect mix of curious, playful, affectionate and independent. Hermione will come running to greet you in the mornings or at night, loves nothing more than your attention, with a quick hello, pat and cuddle. She is happy to be picked up and cuddled, never resisting her time with her people. At night she will find you and either position herself on your lap or near your feet so you are never too far away from her.
Hermione is up for any game, any attention, any cuddles and all pats. Will come to you confidently and quickly when being called and will greet you with a loud and sweet purring noise of hello. Loves to play hide and seek and likes to hide under the bed and gently grab your toes as you walk past – she’s very quick.
Ideally at night she will want to sleep on the bed with you or in a nice snuggly bed with her mum Hyacinth, curling around each other for comfort and expressing their genuine love for each other.
Hermione is very intelligent and there’s always something to investigate and discover. She is always first to work out the new games and how to move the balls to the end zone and is the quickest chasing the laser pointer or the mice on string.
She shares her home with two small dogs and other cats. She enjoys cuddling with everyone, playing wresting and chasey games with the other cats in the house as well as the dogs. She doesn’t discriminate when someone wants to play and is always ready for a game.
Hermione will be an affectionate and wonderful addition to any home. Everyone who meets this sweet soul can't help but fall in love.
Hyacinth (5 kgs) is a beautiful, affectionate, sweet natured girl. She just adores pats, scratches under the chin and seeks human affection wherever she possibly can get it. When things are quieter in the home, she loves nothing more than a soft bed in the sunlight where she can watch the birds and activities outside, safe in her warm cosy bed.
She will come and greet you to say hello, will seek human company to sit on your lap, loves a chin and cheek tickle, loves to sit on your lap in the evenings for some one on one time with you, and just revels in the attention.
This gorgeous girl is cat and dog friendly, sharing her home and playtimes with other cats and two small friendly dogs – nothing fazes this gorgeous girl. She is the perfect mix of independent and demanding for human attention, seeming to intuitively know when the time is right to come up to demand attention and when to do her own thing.
Ideally at night she will want to sleep on the bed with you, or in a nice snuggly bed with her daughter Hermione, curling around each other for comfort and their genuine love for each other.
Hyacinth sometimes isn't a fan of being picked up, and can squirm and wriggle to be put down on the ground as she likes to be in control of this aspect of the interaction.
Hyacinth and Hermione are best suited to an adult home or one with older children.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
