About Cricket
Meet Cricket she is 12 months old. She is unbelievably affectionate and rates pats almost higher than anything else in the world...food is very close though and sometimes it’s a little higher. A stunning black girl with astonishing green eyes she is as pretty as a picture. She loves a chat and often just chirps away . She is the head-bump queen and loves to be wherever you are. Not the best with being picked up but she is getting more comfortable with it over time. She has settled in and has found herself to be quite cat friendly. She has no problem with young children - if they can pat her then she loves them. Her ideal home would be with someone who can give her lots of affection and good food and doesn’t have too many other cats or dogs to contend with.
Medical notes
Our cats are all desexed vaccinated and microchipped before adoption and are up to date with flea and worm treatment.
We will always get a final vet clearance before adoption and provide you with a letter and/or information regarding the animals veterinary history etc.
All of our cats are rescued from pounds, so many may have been previously exposed to cat flu or other diseases previously. We will give you as much information as we can. Please consider this if you have animals (especially cats) at home.
Adoption details
We believe in finding the right 'forever' home for our rescues, so our adoption process is designed to make sure our animals and families are the right fit for each other. As you can imagine, some of our rescue animals have gone through quite an ordeal to wind up in the hands of a rescue group - so finding the right fit is vital to ensuring the well being of both the rescue animals and the families who wish to adopt them.
Please note: We adopt to "INDOOR ONLY" homes for the safety of the animals. Please consider if this is appropriate for you.
Step 1: FIND YOUR MATCH
Find the pooch, kitty or other rescue animal who melts your heart. We will upload the best photos we can to help show their personality. Otherwise, if you aren't sure what you are really looking for yet - skip to Step 2 and ask us for some advice.
Step 2: CONTACT US
Send us a message via Pet Rescue or an email to: pantherandpooch@outlook.com regarding the animal you wish to know more about, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Step 3: APPLY TO ADOPT
Fill out the adoption application and return it to us. We do this at this point so you can get a feel for what you might expect with a rescue animal. It might seem daunting, but don't let that deter you. We just make the application thorough to make sure we get the right fit.
Step 4: MEET YOUR MATCH
Once your adoption application is reviewed and approved, we can organise a meet and greet with your chosen animal. We usually tie this in with a house check, so we'll bring your chosen animal over to meet you/your family.
Step 5: GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER (ADOPTION TRIAL)
If your application is approved and you agree to adopt - Panther & Pooch has a 4 week trial adoption policy. We feel 4 weeks is a good amount of time for you and your rescue to get to know each other. During this 'trial adoption' period, Panther and Pooch will touch base with you to see how things are going, make sure everyone is happy and healthy and make sure your new family member is settling in well. Whilst on a 'trial adoption' the animal remains registered to, and under the guardianship/legal property of Panther and Pooch Pet Rescue. If we do not receive any response from the potential adopters during this period, we may get a little worried that something has happened - so please stay in touch.
If, at any time during the trial adoption, you feel that your adopted animal is not the right fit for you - Panther and Pooch will happily pick them up within 12 - 24 hours (if not sooner). You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask questions or contest your decision. We have an 'open arms' policy which applies to every animal who passes through our rescue - no matter how long they have been with their new family. If you feel at this point you would like to try another animal with your family, this can certainly be discussed. Adoption is a process, and we are here to help you through it.
Step 6: WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
Ok! So you LOVE your new family member, the trial adoption has gone well and you're ready to say 'Welcome To The Family" . . . The next step is to sign the agreement to adopt and change over the microchip to your name. This part is SO important, as you may need to be contacted one day if someone finds your rescue animal.
Step 7: KEEP IN TOUCH
We LOVE updates on our rescues, so feel free to keep in touch. Nothing makes our day better than to see the happy face of our rescues with their new family.
