About 1050 - Herbie
🍌🍌 HERBIE GOES BANANAS! 🍌🍌
Zoom, zoom, zoom, here I am the little love bug, Herbie and I am going bananas looking for my forever home!
There is nothing not too love about me, I am a big old smooch and love nothing more than being around my hooman companions however big or small. You will never be lonely day or night with me around I can promise you that!
As you can imagine I make the purrfect accessory to any home, I am more than happy to keep you company while you relax, play computer games, watch TV, keep you warm on a cold winter’s night or a hot summer’s night for that matter. My cuddles and love are unconditional and won't change with the seasons! I am happy to join you for meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, in fact I insist on joining you for all meals; you never know when you will need our help with cleaning the dishes or getting rid of those nasty leftovers that take up sooooo much room in your fridge!
I live in a house with numerous other cats and kittens, I also live in a house with three boisterous young boys whom I also love and adore to be around; spending long periods of time playing with them or just being spoilt by them. As you can imagine noise is also not issue for me, I'm practically bomb proof!
I am of course the perfect house guest and use my litter box like a good boy. I am very easy going where food is concerned, I love anything and everything!

1050 – Herbie
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby
DOB: 02/02/2019
Adoption Fee: $75
*Herbie’s adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment*
Medical Notes: Herbie had Ringworm, which is a common fungal infection. He was treated for this and given the all clear by the vet. Herbie was also exposed to Calicivirus, which is a respiratory infection. He did not show symptoms and was given the all clear by the vet.
A kitten from Herbie’s foster home likely developed Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a genetic mutation of a common feline infection called Feline Coronavirus. It is not known why some cats develop FIP and others do not, however there are a number of factors including a genetic predisposition. There is no treatment for FIP, the disease is fatal. Dogs and humans are not at risk of transmission of this condition.
There is no way to know whether any of the other fosters in the home will develop it, but after the age of 18 months old, the chances of developing it decreases significantly. Herbie could be shedding the virus and could pass it onto other cats he comes into contact with, and they are then also at risk of developing FIP, so he needs to go to a home with no with other cats under the age of 18 months until he is above this age. He also needs to be inside only to not come into contact with other cats until he reaches 18 months of age. However, he can be re homed with another cat or kitten from his current foster home as they have the same risk.
We are asking for a reduced adoption fee due to the small risk of Herbie also developing FIP due to integration with the affected kitten.
