About Butch (Hutch)
Butch, also known as Hutch (Hutchy, Hutchy-Bear, Hutchasaurus)...
Hutch is the sweetest, most gentle giant you will meet! He is first and foremost a smoocher and loves nothing more than to climb into your lap for a hug. He absolutely loves to be near his people, but is a very good boy and doesn’t bark or cry when he’s left alone or put outside.
Hutch doesn’t really know how to play with toys yet but has just started to discover the joys of the tennis ball. He has started chasing them but not bringing them back yet and loves to have a good chew on them as well.
He loves to play with other dogs. His size can be a little intimidating for little dogs, but he’s very gentle. He’s great with all people including small and big kids. He hasn't yet met any cats. He seems to have inherited the Labrador laziness trait and is quite content to laze the day away. He’s very good at dramatically dropping to the floor mid-play when he decides he’s ready for a nap.
He is a very intelligent boy, learns skills very easily and generally only needs to be told something twice before he remembers it. He absolutely hates to get in trouble so being told off once is a big deterrent for him doing that naughty thing again. So far he has mastered sit, stay, drop and wait for the go command before eating his food. He loves his food and is easy to train with treats, but doesn’t scavenge, beg or steal food. He isn’t afraid to use his puppy dog eyes though! He’s toilet trained and doesn’t have any accidents overnight.
The perfect home for Hutch will be one where he’s treated like a member of the family. He loves to be inside, close to his people and will reward you with love, loyalty and endless snuggles.
Hutch, kind, sweet, quiet, low key and loving. A very good boy!
