About Jerry
Meet Jerry (Also known as Jer Bear)
This special boy came into care at the start of the year. He was found in a reserve in rural NSW, dumped with his brother. He was just 3 months old and petrified of humans.
Jerry has come along leaps and bounds but he still has a long road ahead of him, but with a dedicated person willing to put in time and effort for training we have no doubt he will be the most loyal pet.
Jerry trusts his foster mum with every bone in his body...but new people are scary to him. He prefers women, and once he meets them he starts trusting them fairly quickly. He takes longer to warm up to men. With lots of treats and positive reinforcement Jerry can relax around men.
Jerry needs a foster with view to adopt home with very patient and understanding people willing to help him through his fear.
Jerry gets very scared when meeting new large dogs. He does like small dogs, puppies and cats.
Jerry has been around kids of all ages, although would best suit a home with kids over 12.
Once Jerry loves you, he loves you with all his heart. He loves curling up on the couch for a cuddle, sneaking under the blankets in the bed and laying infront of the fire(or heater).
Jerry loves toys that squeak and will play with them for hours.
Jerry is crate trained; and happily sleeps in there at night, or if you go out for a few hours.
At training Jerry has been learning lots of new tricks, and learning to build his confidence.
Jerry is getting very good at sit, drop, spin and middle. Jerry is also learning loose lead walking.
Jerry needs a foster with view to adopt home that can commit to training at least once per week. Preferably at our trainer in Geelong, although alternative can be organised for the right home.
