About Chilli
Chilli is a sweet attentive boy once he knows and trusts you, but is wary of strangers. It takes time for him to trust. Some say he has characteristics of a Portugese Podengo. He is determined, a very fast learner and will bond closely with his new owner.
He has an obedient character (once he has you trained) and an affectionate nature. Chilli requires discipline, exercise and attention and he loves to play. He is loyal and fearless and a good watchdog with a loud bark when needed. He bonds closely to one owner and seems to prefer women however does not mind some men.
Chilli is agile and will jump low fencing easily and push through gates. He needs a person skilled at obedience training. He likes to be around people and is social with other dogs but does not really bond with another dog. He has a short coat and weighs 5.4kg.
Adult Home: Nervous or not tolerant of children. And/or too high a level of excitability for children to control.
Apartment Friendly: Could cope in an apartment environment. Regular walks or use of an artificial grass patch is suggested.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE:
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitation, with an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
