About Gina
The first thing you need to know about Gina is that she makes everyone fall in love with her. Its her magical ability.
Gina celebrated her 7th birthday on 28 January, and is a confident about what she likes and doesn’t like and won’t leave you guessing. Just a little girl at only 27kg, she is absolutely the perfect size for cuddling on the lounge and keeping you warm as the nights get cold.
Gina’s foster mother is falling in love with her so we need to find her the perfect forever family before she completely falls in love!
Gina is the perfect house dog; she’s completely house trained and loves nothing more than lazing the day away on the lounge... or the bed.... or the dog bed... (even though she doesn’t believe she is a dog). Gina has lovely manners when eating and drinking and isn’t possessive with her food at all. In fact, she’s not possessive of anything and loves to share any space with her greyhound foster brother, usually using him as a pillow!
Gina loves other greyhounds and is learning about other dog breeds as time goes on. Ideally she would love a home either with another greyhound, with someone that will be home with her a lot, or someone that will invest the time in helping her settle into an only dog home. Gina loves people but can forget to be gentle with little humans, so children over the age of 5 is recommended.
Gina is such a sweetheart and will knock you down with her beauty and grace.

Adoption details
STEP 1 - The Conversation
Fill out the adoption enquiry form on our website and tell us about the type of greyhound you think will suit you and your family, or if you've already found a greyhound that has caught your eye. We aim to get the match right for both your sake and that of the greyhound, so please include as much detail as possible in your enquiry. Just like people, every greyhound is unique. Following receipt of your enquiry form, a volunteer from Greyhound Connections will contact you to chat about the greyhounds we have for adoption that may be suitable, or the greyhound that has caught your eye.
STEP 2 - The Meet 'n' Greet
Once we have found a greyhound that might be a good match we will contact you to arrange an obligation-free meet 'n' greet. This might be at your house or at a place where the greyhound is currently living, or in a public place such as a park or cafe. You will get a chance to meet the dog in person and ask any further questions you may have. If you are feeling confident about the greyhound, we will talk about arranging a trial.
STEP 3 - The Trial
To ensure the fit is right for both your family and the greyhound, we recommend a three week trial. This will help you to see if you and the greyhound settle in together, and become accustomed to each other's behaviours. We will provide you with our Adoption Handbook that provides you with lots of vital greyhound-related information and all of your greyhound's personal details. You will be encouraged to contact us and the breeder, trainer or owner if you have any questions or concerns through the trial period. We will be here to support you and the greyhound all the way, and love to hear how the greyhound is settling in.
STEP 4 - The Adoption
Following a successful trial, we will work with you to finalise the adoption of your new family member. This includes signing our adoption form, registering the greyhound under your name with your local animal services authority and providing proof of this, and your payment of the adoption fee.
