About Shadow
This stunning black faced stock coated German Shepherd is Shadow who is an eight month old Shepherd whose former family have made the hard decision to find him a new home.
Shadow is your typical young dog who is teething, testing the waters and displaying all the attributes of a young growing dog. His former owners have young children who found his teething and constant playfulness too much for them to manage, so they made the difficult decision to contact us to re-home him.
Shadow has had basic obedience training but will need a home who are experienced with this beautiful breed and who will continue with his lead and obedience training.
Shadow is playful with dogs, and best suited to a home with older dog savvy children due to his playfulness and exuberance. He needs a stable home environment with structure, routine and firm boundaries. His new owner needs to understand Shadow is wilful and self determined. He was living with a cat, but untested with pocket pets.
This stunning boy has been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and will need keyhole surgery, however we would prefer to find him a new home prior to his operation. The new family will have to keep him quiet after surgery.
If you think you can give this beautiful boy a new home and help him recuperate after his surgery, please click the orange box on your screen “Enquire about this pet”.
Medical notes
Shadow is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and wormed.
Shadow will need surgery on his elbow.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
