About Cordelia
** CORDELIA **
Whilst HNE is primarily a rescue for deaf and other special-needs dogs and cats, sometimes we find ourselves in the position of helping some animals who don’t fit any of our ‘regular’ criteria, except for being in need…
Late one evening in January 2019 - during the insane heat wave that much of the country was suffering through - one of our Canberra team members was walking her HNE foster dog and discovered a box that had been dumped in a school car-park (during school holidays…). That box contained three kittens who were suffering the effects of being out in the heat for an unknown amount of time.
Cordelia is one of those kittens. She recovered from her experience of being dumped and has settled wonderfully into her foster home.
Our medium-coat smokey tabby is a relatively quiet girl. She loves affection, but is also very independent and happy to find ways to occupy herself (she’s a champion napper!). She is comfortable with just her own company – even though she’s sharing her foster home with five other cats (including her sister Viola). Cordelia is a gentle smooch with a face and purr that simply melt your heart. She’s happy to just watch life happen around her, but will still eagerly chase a toy around and will definitely let you know when she’s in need of some one-on-one cuddle time.
Cordelia would do well as a solo cat, do brilliantly as a joint adoption with her sister Viola, or would adjust to sharing her home with a respectful older cat who will give her space to settle in and adjust. She must go to an indoor-only home to ensure she lives the longest, safest life possible.
Cordelia would also do well in a home with a cat-savvy dog. She’s got no qualms in having a hiss at a dog who is getting too close to her, but is also happy to snuggle right up next to a dog for a shared nap.
Cordelia is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated and litter–trained. She is located in Canberra, but interstate adoption is available (transport costs are payable by the adopter).
Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
