About Freddy
Freddy is a little pocket rocket, he loves life and wants to explore all it has to offer with a. Cheeky grin. He is a good boy, but has lots of energy. He is great with kids but gets a little too overexcited with new dogs- he needs time to calm down and then plays beautifully.
Medical notes
Freddie has an odd way of walking. It mainly affects his hind legs but his xrays have shown no major problems. He has a hemivertebrae which is quite a normal finding for this breed. It is thought his hind legs are neurological and more than likely will not get worse, but cannot be fixed.
He also has minor problem eating which is not causing him any problems, and can be medicated. The medication is inexpensive. He had a very mild form of mega oesophagus, the medication helps him to swallow his food more quickly. He does not need to be stood up to eat or any of the issues that affect dogs with severe cases. His is the absolute mildest form which they believe he will grow out of.
Freddy is also a brachycephalic breed and so we will expect you to have researched brachycephalic airway syndrome and spoken to your vet about this condition. He is at no more risk than any other French bulldog. The condition can be managed both environmentally and surgically. He breaths beautifully right now- that may change as he gets older.
