About Belle
BELLE
Siberian Husky
Female (D)
9 Years Old
Located : Raby, NSW (Campbelltown)
Her name suggests otherwise but there's nothing genteel Southern about our Belle. Steel Magnolias on the other hand...
Instead, perhaps think of her as the love child between Lady Muck and Bozo the Clown.
Belle firmly believes that all humans are placed on this earth to worship and serve her needs. Kid tested and mother approved Belle does tend to go *ahem* slightly overboard with her kisses. But don't fear, so long as you're prepared for the back-chat of defiance she will listen to correction.
Belle flourishes with routine and structure. If you are home more often than not she needs play time with another canine friend in the backyard, but demands the right to snuggle with you on the couch come night.
Best suited to a home with a fairly consistent routine through the working week, come weekends she lives for cafe visits, trips to the local footy match and shopping the local market. Basically anything that gets her out and about, with you right by her side. Although slightly mobility impaired (see medical notes below) Belle enjoys feeling the wind in her fur as she runs like she was born to do nothing else... only to bung it on the moment she sees you wish to harness her freedom by use of a leash.
Getting on with most other dogs, Belle will be the "alpha" in any relationship. With that said she was in temp foster for a week with another dominant female who doesn't take too kindly to same. Shock of horrors to all they settled into a mutual admiration society - no human interference required. Really though, we think this cougar prefers to boss younger toy boys around. :P
But please, not cats or pocket pets in her new family... the only reason the caged bird is still on it's perch is because of human vigilance!
In need of a minimum 6ft fencing with no footholds to use as leverage, you will also need to ensure there are no pre-existing gaps along the fenceline. Her prey drive towards felines and birds is the stuff of legends, so none of those in her new homes, per favor.
Belle has one creature comfort she cannot do without - her crate. Her safe haven, she enters that deep sleep state of the innocent (huh!) until the break of dawn.
So if you're over the "worst" parts of the puppy stage but still in need of a bear who is young at heart, Belle is ready and waiting to meet you.... then love you long time!

Medical notes
**MEDICAL NOTES**
Belle arrived into care, pulling up lame after walks. Extensive testing indicates no visible issues, or anything that is surgically correctable outside of some (perhaps age related) spondylosis at the top of her spine which is in such early stages it would not account for this.
We conducted neurological testing, which presented nothing out of the ordinary. She's your typical, cray-cray husky with all her faculties intact!
With that said our vet can only conclude that at some stage during her development she has taken a hard knock to either her head or the side of her body.
There is nothing we can surgically do for her. We have put her on painkillers and also observed her off them - all have concluded she is in no pain with no need of them, which is the main thing. Either way this certainly does not limit her capabilities!
