About Frankie
When life gives you lemons, be like 5 year old Frankie! Frankie is a unique and energised Labradoresque (cross breed) 5 year old little rocket who is always on the go and a lot of fun to be around.
Frankie’s favourite things include chasing his squeaky tennis ball, snuggling up and licking his human companions, investigating anything and everything that is happening around the house and garden, extended belly rubbing, long walks down at the lake, dinner time and meeting new people to play with.
His adorable face and unique looks are an attention magnet. He can be a little nervous at first in new situations but warms up quickly and takes most things in his stride. He loves travelling in the car and is happy to relax in the back or watch the world speed past.
Frankie does have an issue with his back legs, they sometimes get a little weak and uncoordinated on him particularly at the end of a long day. As far as we are able to tell after specialist vet investigations, this isn’t getting any worse and doesn’t cause Frankie any pain. He definitely does not let it slow him down. He will need a family willing to keep him slim and fit with plenty of exercise and good food.
He loves to be around people, as close as possible but is fine with something to chew on or something else to keep him busy when this isn’t possible. Frankie walks beautifully on the leash and is equipped with outstanding manners around the home but like all dogs needs some reminding of these every now and again.
Frankie doesn’t get along too well with other dogs as he is a little nervous around them and so not particularly sociable. He is happiest keeping them at arms length when out and about but has no issues passing by dogs of all types on a walk.
Frankie would be best suited to a home with older children where he will be the only dog.
Frankie is located in Canberra ACT and is available for adoption. He's been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and has been treated for heartworm and intestinal worms. This gorgeous boy is available to the right family for a rehoming fee of $300.
Adoption details
Please go to the website http://www.rescuealabrador.com/
to submit an adoption application. Please click on the adopt a dog link on the left hand side of the screen and complete the questions if you are interested in adopting aLabrador.
We will not discuss specific dogs with you until you have completed this questionnaire as this allows us to establish which dogs are potential matches for your lifestyle.
Once we have found a suitable match to your family, we will allow you to contact the appropriate foster carer who will discuss the dog in more detail with you.
Once you are both satisfied that this is a good match you will be able to meet the Lab. If all goes well, you will be able to take the dog on a 2 week trial. You will complete the adoption paperwork and pay the adoption fee at this stage.
At the end of the 2 week trial you will be able to adopt the Lab and we will submit the microchip transfer to the council.
