About Napoleon
Like his namesake, Napoleon is a revolutionary thinker, a believer in justice and equality for all... but you won't find this handsome lad out on the battleground, at least not anymore!
Life hasn't been easy for Napoleon, but he has made the best of it and he knows that things are only looking up from here!
As you can see in the photo, Napoleon suffered a pretty nasty neck wound. He was actually covered in many small wounds but it was this huge abscess that burst and caused the skin too die, that really put his life in jeopardy. Luckily for him, a very kind member of the public noticed his condition and took him to a vet clinic for treatment... and from there, he came to SAFE.
Napoleon has been living on the streets for a long time and he's loving the luxuries of being indoors with every meal provided to him and no need to fight to survive. However, he is still very timid and slowly adjusting to this new existence. Napoleon contracted FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) while out on the streets - it's not actually too much of an issue, and you can read about it here: https://www.petrescue.com.au/library/articles/caring-for-cats-with-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
Napoleon does need to be kept strictly as an indoor/cat enclosure kitty from now on though. Don't worry he's happy to be inside!
You'll need to be patient and keep him in a small and quiet space to begin with. He's very affectionate and just LOVES scratches on the chin and lots of pats, but he's not quite ready for being picked up and cuddled just yet. Patience and love will go a long way. Once he's settled in, Napoleon will be an awesome, loving and affectionate companion who will be so happy to be part of your family!
He probably isn't suited to a home with very small children as they will be too loud and enthusiastic for him. He may be okay with cat-friendly dogs, pending a slow intro. He may also be okay with other cats as he doesn't seem to mind the other kitties in his foster home - however being a big strong male, a home with female cats is likely to be the best match up (or he can be your one and only).
You are very welcome to meet him today and take him home later.
A meeting with this fellow won't disappoint!
