About Spikey
Hi everyone Spikey here, I am a bit of a canine celebrity with Chihuahua Rescue QLD, I am not a Chihuahua of course but what a dog I am, I have a dilemma currently, my foster family are unable to take me to my Vet Visits at Jindalee so I am looking for a new family who are able to love me and take care of me and take me to my vet visits at Jindalee, until I am ready for adoption, so currently I just need a foster family.
I came to Chihuahua Rescue QLD morbidly obese, I lost a ton of weight but my joints were damaged due to my size, I have had one successful operation on one of my back legs and am recovering really well and I have one more to go on my other back leg, then I will be like new. I also have Cushings so take daily medication, but I am worth it, While I am still a foster dog CRQ will pay all my expenses, this could be for another six months, I would really like a foster to adopt family.
Now the sort of family I am looking for, I don't like cats, oh and other dogs well they take my families attention away from me, so really I need to to be an only pet, I am really good with children, I currently look after a special needs child! My tail never stops wagging, seriously never, well maybe when I am asleep, oh and talking about sleep, I like to go to bed at 9pm and I sleep in my den crate, I really like it and it keeps me safe and you won't hear from me until the morning. That will come with me and I even have what I call a chariot, a doggy pram! So I can still go out while I recover from my surgeries.
If you would like to know more about me, seriously I am a celebrity, fill out the expression of interest, if you are not interested in fostering to adopt me, fostering long term would also be fine, I am seriously the best dog ever, you will have a loyal friend who will never let you down, also I am very handsome and have the most gorgeous eyes. Please come and meet me, Spikey xxx
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Spikey has Cushings Syndrome this is controlled well with medication, Spikey has had patella surgery, he has another to go and will benefit from joint supplements, he is also currently on pain relief while recovering from surgery. Spikey is also on Liver supplements. All costs are covered until adoption by Chihuahua Rescue QLD. He will also come with a supply of medication when he is ready to be adopted.
