On Hold
About Cody
I HAVE A MEETING WITH A FAMILY SOON SO I AM CURRENTLY ON HOLD Hi all, I’m Cody, (my foster mum calls me Cody Fox because of my pointy face and ears,) it’s a pleasure to meet you!
The people here at CRQ don’t think I had the easiest start to life, I was probably taken from mum too early as I have some social barriers. I take a while to warm up to people, as I am really scared at first. But when I get to know you, I love a good cuddle and a neck scratch!
I get a long really well with my foster brother, I love playing tug-of-war with him and my favorite rope toy. I think he gets a bit tired, so I’d probably do really well with either someone my age or I’m happy to be alone as long as my new family can play with me. I have lots of puppy energy still!
I would prefer a home body so I have some company, but I do enjoy my alone time in my crate so I can sleep without any distractions, as I am always on alert.
I’m working on my barking, I used to be very vocal, but now as long as I’ve said what I have to say I calm down quite quickly. I’ve also started going on morning walks which I really, really enjoy! I’m still learning how to walk on a lead but there’s just so much to smell!
I am a really sweet little guy who just needs someone to love me as much as I’ll love them. I’ll need someone who can continue to work with my vet behaviorist, she has helped me a lot and I would like to keep following my plan. I want to be a good boy and I know with the right family who can follow our plan, I will learn to trust again. I am not suitable with children.
If you want to find out more about me, fill out the expression of interest further down the page, thanks for reading my story, love Cody.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Cody is on anxiety medication he needs this to continue in his adoptive home. Weekly cost of his medication is $15 per week.
