Toilet Trained
Size
30 kgs
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Buckley has a warm, gentle temperament and is loyal and affectionate.
His easy going nature would see him easily slot into family life.
Buckley is very intuitive and can sense when his owner is unhappy and provides steadfast companionship.
He has a striking appearance with one eye a different colour.
Buckley is not fond of water.
Ideal Owner
Buckley will appeal to many families but ideally he would love to share his life with kids and another friendly dog.
He is ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when people are home.
As Buckley is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters or time poor.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure. He may take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape. Normal 6 foot (2 meter) fencing is fine but needs to go into the ground as he may dig underneath if able to.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Buckley will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
He will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not,
- stay at home parent,
- someone that works from home,
- part time workers,
- empty nesters,
- active retirees,
- full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when home.
He should fit in if there is already another permanent dog in the home.
Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active (can miss a daily walk). Needs a medium to large backyard.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs she starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
May take off if excited but usually comes back when called.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
