Tiger has medical conditions which will require ongoing care, however he is a spritely and super affectionate boy who has come to life since being in his temporary foster home. Tiger is quite hard to take a photo of, as he is always so busy trying to head butt the camera and get pats…hence the picture with the squinty eyes! We are looking for a permanent foster home for Tiger, a quiet home where Tiger is the only cat. A home with older children would be fine, but someone who is looking to spend plenty of time patting him is a must.
Tiger is FIV positive so he needs to be an only cat, and either live totally indoor or indoor with access to an enclosure. He also has multiple small skin lumps that need to be monitored, he's had four teeth removed while in our care, he has slightly harsh lung sounds. Tiger also has an allergic skin reaction that has been treated, and will need veterinary-grade flea treatment monthly to prevent it for re-occurring. He has had thickened intestines with vomiting and diarrhoea and tests have come back that he most likely has intestinal cancer or inflammatory bowel disease. He has been on an intestinal diet which has so far controlled the diarrhoea. Tiger's foster home will work closely with our Animal Welfare coordinator and veterinary staff to make sure his quality of life is still good.
Please contact Julie on 97988415 or awc@aaps.org.au (prefered) to discuss the permanent foster of Tiger.
