About Bear D0509 adopted 8/7/18
Bear is a sweet little dog seeking a loving home. He is a little livewire although can be slightly timid in new situations and has had a few changes recently so it will be lovely for him to be settled into a new permanent home. Bear is great with children and likes snuggling on the couch with them, and sleeping on their beds. He has been fine around most dogs and shares his foster home with a small, gentle dog, although ideally if you have another dog already it would be best to meet in neutral territory as he has shown protective behaviours with a new male dog in his own yard. Pending successful meet we believe he would enjoy a home with another placid dog for company. He is also cat friendly (even a little scared of them when they get up close!)
Bear would like a daily walk and is a great size for taking out and about with his new family.
He likes having company and would suit a home where someone is home at least part of each day and where he is around his people. He seems mostly house trained once he susses out where to go out, and gets into a routine. Has had a couple of accidents when he forgot to ask to go outside but should quickly master a doggy/cat door.
Bear is very, very quick on his feet and can rush past you out the door and be away up the drive unless you are careful, so will need a home where he can't get access straight out onto a road, or a routine where he is taught to wait, or placed on a lead when going out, to ensure his safety.
