About Tommy**cuddle monster
Covid-19 restrictions on meet and greets will apply for everyone's safety
If you are looking for an extremely loving, snuggly and loyal 27kg lap dog then Tommy is your guy.
He is non-destructive, toilet trained and just an all round lovely dog. He is a little more on the shy side but he doesn’t mind places with lots of people as he’ll simply work the room for pats. He’s got a quirky personality and will often look at you with human-like expression. He needs a dedicated owner/s who will show him the world is not a scary place and a home in a quiet street, not on a busy main road.
He LOVES the car and will fly into the back before you’ve even finished opening the door. He quite enjoys the smell of the breeze through the partially opened car window. When he came into care he didn’t know what a toy was, now he loves squeaky toys and fetching his favourite squeaky ball.
He would do well with another well mannered older dog for company and with a human that works part time. He is great with dogs and is submissive. He needs a home with no cats or pocket pets, he hates cates.
He absolutely loves his walks, it’s a great opportunity for him to use his powerful nose. He relaxes most of the day away and would much rather be resting on or near his humans. He’s unaware of his size so will crawl into your lap given the first opportunity. He’ll happily stay completely still for as long as you’re willing to pat him, if you stop he will put his paw on your lap or nudge you with his nose, he’s adorably pushy about getting affection.
Those looking for a true companion, a dog who will follow you everywhere, be involved in all aspects of your life, want to sit in your lap and sleep next to you should apply.
Tommy is living as an indoor dog and this would need to continue in his new home as he’s become accustom to a warm, comfy life after living his first couple of years in a home of neglect. He does love the occasionally outdoor sunbake though! He struggles with the cold due to his short coat, another reason indoor life is a must.
He has proven to be gentle around young children but due to their unpredictable nature, I believe he’d be best in a home without young children.
He has had two cruciate operation, so will never be a marathon running companion. Maybe a hundred metre dash would do. Or, just a nice leisurely walk,
Tommy’s forever home must:
- a well-mannered older dog for extra company when the humans go out
- have access to indoors at all times
- no cats or pocket pets
- be looking for a companion dog, one who enjoys the comfort of a dog that’s always close by
- no children under 12, he is too bouncy
