About Teak
***INDOOR ONLY CAT ***
Teak was born approximate 08.01.16. We think he may be a Tonkinese or a Tonk Cross and we often used to speculate about one day finding the rogue daddy of all the beautiful blue eyed pointed kittens we keep finding up here on the Tablelands and this beautiful boy just might be him. We hated to bring his career to an end, but it had to be done because unfortunately his roaming must have brought him into contact with another tom who injured him severely enough for him to have contracted FIV. This is not a death sentence, but it does mean that to ensure a long, happy life he needs to be kept indoors only where he can't be coming into contact with cats that might be carrying other diseases, as his weakened immune system makes him vulnerable. He'll need to be kept on a very healthy raw diet to protect his immune system as much as possible but generally shouldn't need medication and can live a long life. He doesn't necessarily need a cat free home either, just to live with cats who don't fight and so not infect them. He's not a fighter and is very sociable and friendly, so this type of environment shouldn't be hard for him to find. He loves attention and will make a lovely companion. All his vet work has been done and includes desexing, microchip, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment.
Meet and greet in Millaa Millaa.
