About Sandy
Sandy is a very affectionate gentle girl. She is also very smart and food motivated. She has no idea about what walking on a lead is. She sits down for a belly rub instead! She moves very slowly but enjoys cuddles from volunteers. Sandy responds well to obedience training with treats. She loves the car and she is crate trained. She is currently in a foster home. She knows sit, stay, come, look and touch. She is very good at impulse control exercises and responds well to clicker training. She is an anxious dog who is particularly nervous when outside. Meeting visitors she gets very excited and can get mouthy and nippy. She has a smooth coat and weighs 26.5kg -- slightly overweight! She would do best with an experienced rescue person with a house with garden and not a lot of visitors coming.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
Medical notes
She comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
