About Daisy Yarrowsmith
Daisy is a cuddly and loving girl who cares for everyone in the family.
She is very easy to look after, fully toilet trained and doesn't chew or dig. She has a gentle, highly tolerant nature - allowing you to pick her up or bath her very easily.
When Daisy first arrived in foster care she was a little overweight and inactive, however now that she has slimmed down her joyful and playful nature shows. Daisy will happily make a “toy” out of whatever she is allowed to – a spare sock, a small piece of rope, her Kong – however due to her knee surgery this year she is not allowed to play with balls in case they bounce in a way that causes her to twist.
Daisy is great at playing fetch with her makeshift “toys”. Not only can she catch really well, she will always bring the “toy” back to you and drop it at your feet. And don’t expect a silent game! Daisy has the most endearing range of fun noises when she’s playful and frisky. Sometimes she sounds more like a chimpanzee, than a dog!
Despite being a polite, sweet little girl, Daisy will let you know if she’s not happy about the stranger who has just walked in the front gate. The only time Daisy barks is when she’s nervous about the presence of someone in her home environment. She is very protective of her people and her home. She just wants to make sure her pack members are happy and safe.
Daisy is very good with cats and knows they are usually “boss”. She does enjoy a little chase every now & then – particularly when her feline friend wants to play and sometimes even chases back! Daisy currently shares her foster home with a Ragdoll cat and most of the time they simply walk past each other without even a glance.
Daisy has a very healthy appetite and would always be happy to have a snack. (You can see why she was once a bit overweight.) But despite being an enthusiastic eater she never snatches food or treats - she just slowly and gently takes it from you
Even though Daisy loves company, she is quite content on her own sometimes. During the day she quietly relaxes or potters about the house, waiting patiently for her daily walk/s. And when it’s time to go she twirls and shakes with joy at the anticipation of the smells and sights that she’ll experience and doggy friends she’ll “meet & greet” as they wander passed. Daisy has never shown any sign of distress when being left home alone for short periods, but she so enjoys coming with you when she can.
Daisy has lived in the past with other dogs and gets on well with them, in fact in the past she has played ‘mother’ but she may need to be told that it is time to share again.
Daisy is located in Melbourne.
