Likes
He loves the beach and is very confident in the water, jumping in and skylarking about. Also enjoys playing fetch with you. Rufus is very affectionate and will love to be your buddy – sitting next to you as close as he can.
Dislikes
He has nipped another dog once – when it was attacking his owner. Having said this Rufus is generally a laid back, even tempered dog with a lovely nature. His current owner says he is not aggressive and has subsequently never had a problem \ with him around other dogs.
Ideal home
Active person, couple or family who have time to spend with Rufus. Whether it is throwing a toy with him in the back yard or frolicking about at the beach. Ideally he would be suited as an only dog in the home not because he is unsociable, but because he loves doing things one-on-one with his owner.
Generally
Rufus doesn’t really malt and is generally an easy-going, low maintenance dog. He doesn’t ask for much but responds ‘’ten fold’’ to affection and attention. He is a young, active dog who will thrive in a home that is also active and young at heart. Rufus is generally a gentle, sweet natured dog that will fit in easily.
Rufus is currently located in Esperance, WA, but he can be brought to Perth.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
