About Byron *On Trial in His New Home*
*BYRON IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* He's My Blonde Headed Stompy Wompy Real Gone Surfer Boy!” Named after our famous Byron Bay beach, Byron reminds us of the quintessential Aussie surfer with his shaggy, golden locks and cruisey demeanor. Found wandering the streets of Mildura (which is a far cry from Byron Bay, but you get our drift!) this chilled out dude has served his time in our local pound and is more than ready to bring his personal vibe to a loving forever home.
Now settled into foster care where his perky nature is a plus Byron loves to give kisses and wants to spend time with you. He is great with children, even the young ones love him with his soft silky fur that is just so touchable – he was a hit when he recently visited our local Girl Guides! Affectionate Byron is not at all grumpy even giving his foster carers cat a chance; they play for hours! He is terrific around other playful dogs and has been having fun in care with his foster carers own dog who looks a lot like an older version of Byron.
As Byron is only young (our vets estimate 7 months) he has all the potential in the world for learning new tricks. He is whip smart and picks up training really well and is learning the basics such as “sit” and “down” and his foster carers children are teaching him to fetch. Walks on a lead often feature him surfing ahead, though with a little more practice alongside a dedicated owner he will become an obedient and wonderful "good fur citizen".
Adorable Byron does love his food, especially treats and takes them gently from your hand like the mellow sun loving spirit he is! High quality dog food and a few chicken wings are a brilliant diet for him. Because his coat is longer he will need a good brush to keep his locks luscious, and we feel that Byron and his new family will both enjoy this moment of bonding. His toilet training has progressed well and he sleeps in a crate at night in his foster mum’s room. Byron does enjoy an inside/outside lifestyle so we would want this continued in his forever home with either a friendly dog to hang with or on his own though only if his human/s will be home a lot as Byron is used to having company and thrives on it.
If this golden haired dude sounds like the kinda pup you’ve always wanted to share your pad with then please download and complete a SARG Dog Adoption Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet.html
PS: A special “thank you” to Tammy a wonderful volunteer who took these gorgeous pics of Byron during his time at Mildura pound :)

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
