About Angus
Angus is a handsome boy. He has that terrier inquisitive nature but he is protective his patch. Angus requires a handler with rescue experience, specifically someone with experience with fear aggressive dogs. He does not tolerate strangers in his home and is nervous of them out on walks. He is in training to improve his sociability with other dogs and his tolerance of strangers but this is a very slow process, he requires multiple visits to build a bond with a person and needs slow calm movements. He is sociable with small to medium sized female dogs. He has a scruffy coat that can be clipped under sedation or while muzzled and weighs 9kg.
Angus also has a collapsing trachea and is on an inhaler for this three times a day. This means he can sometimes choke on water or food if he eats/drinks too quickly and needs to be supervised. He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Apartment Friendly: Could cope in an apartment environment. Regular walks or use of an artificial grass patch is suggested.
Adult Home: Nervous or not tolerant of children. And/or too high a level of excitability for children to control.
Suit Part Time Worker: Copes alone for short periods, with training possibly longer but presently does need someone home part of the time.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE:
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitation, with an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped.
Also included for the love and health of our doggies, is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
