AWL QLD saving lives

The AWL’s SEL (save every life) program has been successful since being introduced in May – for the past two months we have not had to kill a single healthy and sociable  Gold Coast cat.

This is an incredible achievement when 200,000 healthy and sociable cats and dogs are killed in Australia EVERY YEAR just because there are not enough homes.

So, since May, the Gold Coast has achieved zero euthanasia of healthy and sociable pets – this is an Australian first – no other city has achieved this - BUT THIS IS AT RISK!

If people do not adopt an SELcat THIS WEEKEND we will have to again start killing  animals simply because there are  no homes.

These cats are Gold Coast cats – so it’s up to the Gold Coast community to take responsibility – and take action.

Please help us by urging people to come to the AWL at Coombabah and adopt a cat or kitten, visit the website and adopt an SEL cat, or visit the Stapylton shelter and adopt  a kitten. (Stapylton has only just started to sell kittens this week).

Or, alternatively, you can come forward as an emergency foster carer (call (07) 5509 9020 – but please be aware you must agree to having potential new owners visit the cat in your home.

If you're in Queensland and have been thinking about getting a new pet, don't delay! Your AWL needs you!
