Australian version of "Animal Hospital" to feature the Lort Smith

Parker has signed a run-of-series contract with Channel 9 to host its new fly-on-the-wall show Animal Hospital.

In what is sure to be a ratings winner and tug on the heartstrings of viewers, the show will follow the ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies and real-life drama that occurs at Lort Smith Animal Hospital.

The series is being filmed in Melbourne and will air on Nine in the new year.

Parker said the show was a tear-jerker.

"It's a privilege to be granted the access like we have and be able to show what goes on when pets and abandoned animals are brought in," Parker said.

"Animal Hospital will appeal to anyone with a heart. It will touch viewers on an emotional level and you can't help but become emotionally involved in the stories, and the great thing is there are a lot of happy stories to tell here."
