(US) October is Adopt-A-Dog Month®

Right now there is a happy-go-lucky mutt (or purebred) patiently waiting for his forever home. Actually, there are thousands of them in shelters across the nation. For this reason, the American Humane Association created Adopt-A-Dog Month® to remind you that there is a need for these special animals to be adopted.

Celebrated every October, the tradition promotes dog adoptions from animal shelters and provides an opportunity to spread the word about responsible pet care.
