More than 15 homeless pets were rescued earlier this month, thanks to a Balcatta pet store.

PETstock, together with non-profit organisation PetRescue, recently hosted the first national in-store adoption program, with all animals, including 11 dogs, four cats and a couple of rabbits, going to local families.

Storeowner Trent Barrett said the event was a huge success, with about 300 people attending.

The animals came from independent animal shelters in Perth.
