The power is you!

There is a movement, quietly gaining momentum in the suburbs and the cities of Australia.

Small teams of compassionate animal lovers, finding each other and setting to work saving the lives of homeless pets. Reaching out to the community via the internet, recruiting loving adoptive homes and temporary families to give pets a second chance at life, this movement is rapidly propelling us into a future where no healthy, adoptable pet goes without a home.

But after years of working without recognition suddenly, almost overnight, Australians have come to embrace their local community rescue groups.

We love our pets. We want to help. We want to support these grassroots organisations tirelessly saving those who simply need a second chance.

  • PetRescue, a website dedicated to giving the little rescue a big voice, has placed second only to World Vision in the national Hitwise Awards.

  • Rescued with Love, a dedicated group of foster carers in Victoria have taken out a Victoria Day Award.

  • Barnaby, a neglected dog saved by Victorian Dog Rescue (a foster care network), has become an international superstar, with his story spreading as far as India.

All these successes are based on a single premise;

Australians want to save homeless animals!

Now is the time to take action. Nearly every community has a rescue group saving the lives of local pets. They don't have a huge marketing budget and they don't have millions in the bank to help them with their work. Instead, they often are run completely by volunteers and from people's own homes. They are life-saving networks of compassionate pet lovers who have decided to change the future for the homeless animals in their community. And these guys need your help.

Volunteer. Donate. Foster - the answer is you.

It doesn't matter how you help, just that you help today. Find a way to volunteer with your local rescue group here and lend a hand.
