Banging a different drum
Check out Panasonic’s “Neuter Your Bunny” campaign from the US.
To promote its Oxyride batteries, the company played off their competitor’s Energizer bunny and their plans to, well, neuter him. The campaign’s purpose was “to build awareness of the health benefits of neutering your bunny and the performance benefits of using Panasonic Oxyride batteries.”
Panasonic encouraged everyone to fix their pet rabbits and declared “Neuter Your Bunny Day.” The company also donated $10,000 to the nonprofit House Rabbit Society to pay for the surgeries.
