Web helps renters with animals
 
Weary pet owners looking for rental properties could be rescued with the launch of a new website.
 
Pet Friendly Rentals managing director Ryan Blunden got the idea when he was faced with having to give away his beloved dog, Tonka.
 
"I know how hard it is to find a house when you have a pet," he said. "Recent research has shown that 51 per cent of renters were not allowed to keep a dog."
 
Mr Blunden's website petfriendlyrentals.com.au is a welcome resource, in a country where statistics show 53 per cent of households own a dog or cat.

Mr Blunden said his website made provision for pet owners to enter details about their animal, creating a free resume that could be submitted to property managers.
 
"We have found that preparing a resume on you pet and offering to sign an agreement about the standards you will meet really helps when you are applying for rental accomodation," he said.
