URGENT - Foster carers needed
The Victoria bush fire tragedy has seen thousands of people offering to open their homes to animals in need and the offers for foster carers continue to pour in. However, further north it's a different story, with a shortage of carers across Queensland which is putting pets lives at risk
Best Friends Rescue Queensland is one of the groups in urgent need of pet foster carers. They are currently overflowing with dogs, cats and kittens and need your help. Like many rescue groups around Australia, Best Friends Rescue is run entirely by volunteers and relies on a network of foster carers to care for pets until new permanent homes are found.

Becoming a foster carer is one of the best ways to help rescue pets find new, loving homes. Pets in foster care live in a normal home environment so don't suffer the stress of being in a kennel. Also, as a foster carer you are able to help build an accurate account of your foster pet's personality, helping to match them to the perfect new forever home.
Just as there are many types of great homes for pets, there are many types of foster carers. Best Friends will match you with a pet that will fit easily into your home. You may prefer a breed you've had experience with, a pet of a similar age to your own pet or, if you have special skills you may be asked to consider a special needs pet.
If you have ever thought about becoming a foster carer, now is the time - Foster carers save lives!
