Is being time poor putting you off pet ownership?

A common reason people often hesitate in getting a pet is their fear that they won’t be able to offer the animal a significant amount of time and attention. We live in a busy world these days, with most of us time-poor, so this is a very reasonable concern. Not being able to spend a great chunk of your time with your pet is not the be-all-end-all for pet ownership options however…you may just have to adjust your original approach!

Consider Cats

Cats make great pets, and unlike dogs, are quite independent little things; They love attention, but are happy to spend quality time without their human - but that's not to say they don't love company so if you work beyond the 9-5, why not consider the plural – adopt two!

Adoption x 2

Litters of kittens are regularly surrendered to rescue (especially during cat-breeding season) and kitten brothers and sisters develop tight bonds through this experience. The same can also be said for unrelated kittens and cats – if they’re homed together at the shelter, there’s a very good chance they’ll be best mates at your home too!

Doubling the Fun

  • Indoor cats thrive with a friend
  • There is less of a chance you’ll come home to a couch or curtains destroyed by ‘boredom’!
  • They will train each other – once one picks up litter box training, the other will almost always follow suit
  • They’ll keep each other fit
  • If there are problems with eating, if one takes the lead, the other usually follows
  • You’ll get TWICE the amount of love, meows, and cuddles!
  • And finally – the feel good factor you get from doing something good (pet adoption) x 2!

So if you are missing out on the love of a pet, because of your long work hours, talk to a rescue group today about adopting two cats!

You won’t regret it!
