Calling all cool cats and kittens! Melbourne singles have a chance to show real love this Valentine's Day weekend at two very special Puppy Love events for some furry friends who could use some special care.
With rescue groups and shelters kept busy at this time of year, m.a.d.woman (making a difference) animal shelters to make a difference to some of the State’s cutest inhabitants.
Melbourne like-minded singles will meet in Fitzroy on Friday February 12 to meet some four leg friends and perform a range of activities that make a difference for rescued dogs and cats.
Founder and CEO of m.a.d.woman Melina Schamroth said the Single Volunteers events provided a meaningful way like-minded singles to meet. Last year Single Volunteers groups helped a range of charities including cooking more than 30,000 meals for hungry and homeless people though the Cooking for a Cause program.
“Puppy Love is another way that people can meet while making a difference, this time to animals in need. Who knows? They may even find their purrfect match.”
Schamroth started Single Volunteers nearly two years ago with the aim of finding herself a new boyfriend. The search was successful and she says many great friendships - and sometimes more – have come out of people attending these events.
“The emphasis is not on being single, rather on being a person who cares about their community and just happens to be single”.
