Wellington SPCA's humane solutions for cats in their community!

Wellington SPCA and other animal welfare organisations spend a huge amount of time and effort trying to find homes for the large numbers of cats brought into their centres each year. We know that we can’t entirely eliminate stray cats from an area (no matter how many we remove) but, we can greatly reduce their numbers through humane managed programs.
Wellington Access Radio 783am recently interviewed two of Wellington SPCA’s staff members about various aspects of their work. Specifically, a initiative which has been set up by Wellington SPCA and is supported by Wellington City Council. The scheme has been established to tackle a burgeoning stray cat population in a suburban area of Wellington.
